When I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a couple of month ago, it felt like the world pressed pause. After living with stroke and arthritis, I thought I understood recovery. I’d learned to adapt, pace myself, and accept what my body could and couldn’t do. But this new diagnosis felt different — as if life was reminding me, once again, that change is never really “done.”
Fibromyalgia, stroke, and arthritis have each reshaped my life in different ways so is blog is about integration. They’ve taught me to listen more closely to my body, to value rest as much as action, and to redefine success beyond constant productivity. It’s about how we can weave health, work, and purpose together, instead of feeling torn between them. Because life doesn’t stop after diagnosis but it needs a different rhythm.
I’m not trying to find the person I was before all this. She’s still here — just more aware, slower in pace, but deeper in purpose. I need to decide what still matters, what no longer fits, and how we can build a life that honours our energy. I’m learning to live well in my new normal.
Over the next few months, I’ll be exploring themes like pacing, confidence, work adjustments, and finding identity after big health changes. My hope is that this space becomes a gentle corner where recovery and ambition can co-exist, and where we can talk honestly about life after some like this without apology.
If you’re also navigating life or work after illness, I’d love to hear what “rebuilding” looks like for you. Let’s start that conversation.
